I’m so excited to be hosted by Don Massenzio today on his site at

Thanks for all your support this year. There’s still time to treat a student to a book!

Peace and joy at this wonderful time of the year.

World Kindness Day

That’s apparently on Monday the 13th of November. If you didn’t know, don’t worry neither did I. What a shame that we have to be reminded to do something as fundamental to our well being as to be kind!

Let’s practise before Monday, shall we? Not because it’s a special day but because we can…

I shared a meal with someone this lunchtime. It was a lamb roast lunch, all but for the Yorkshire puddings, that I forgot. The pudding was pineapple upside down cake and custard (made with fresh pineapple.) I know! It tasted better than it looks, my smiley pud.20171107_161926So much for the diet. I’ll start tomorrow.

What do you recommend as the best way to show kindness? All ideas greatly received.

Good News! My Novel gets a plug

Huge thanks go to Denise Powell, Founding Editor of the Voices Project. It is a website featuring women: ‘Front line experts on combating global poverty agree
that when you empower a woman
you empower a family,
a community,
a nation…’

Here she has published the first page of ‘What If I Go’ novel, in an attempt help me to raise awareness of exploitation and how to spot the signs of controlling men.

On her site the novel extract sits amongst amazing poetry and prose written from the heart. She has a passion for promoting human rights through storytelling, which I admire greatly. Check it out here-

It’s not #Wordless Wednesday after all!

Empowerment Through Self-Expression

Coming soon! There’s a month to wait but… You maybe interested to know that an extract from the beginning of my novel, ‘What If I Go?’ outlining the dangers from gangs of sexual abuse for students, is to be published online at ‘The Voices Project’ on 10th October. Please go to their wonderful site here-

http://www.thevoicesproject.org/

The Voices Project is a non-judgemental venue for women, and also men, to express their personal stories and observations through poetry/prose to promote social change. The hope is to bring the voices of these individuals forward, providing a creative pathway leading to growth and empowerment, and in turn affecting everything within their lives. Although our main focus is on women’s literature, we do publish (and celebrate!) the voices of men, as it’s important we are all a part of the conversation and mission.

If you could direct traffic that way then abuse survivors could gain from the empathy found there. Thank-you!

University essentials

Having got the grades, are you now wondering what to take to Uni? This site called ‘The Student Room’ has many useful tips about starting Uni/college. Check them out on Twitter here @thestudentroom.

This list of “must haves” is good for parents & carers too:  http://bit.ly/2vi0AOz

Particularly of interest to empty nesters: Here you can download a savee novella to warn off-spring about the dangers of moving away from home. http://amzn.to/2fsRFWV

Enjoy your shopping trips! Be prepared for moving out by including an easy to prep cook book to your Freshers’ Week survival kit.

BTW this isn’t a fried egg amongst the rays, it’s a lily! Ha ha. Got you. 20170812_132639

One year in- one hundred followers?

Big hugs! I could be my centenary day today. ♥ Its a big ask but ask then it shall be given…

Yay! I can’t believe it’s been a year that I’ve been here! If four more folk follow today, then I’ll have a hundred followers. Thanks! Your support makes me happy. What I rely upon is the generosity of my followers to spread the news about my novel. Then, we can empower college & Uni students to stay safe and avoid falling prey to gangs. Or even anyone else heading off for ventures new.

So, to give a heads up to young adults then just direct them to Amazon or even better download a copy of ‘What If I Go?’ for a fresher you know. It could be an essential part of their kit leaving home.

Remember, it’s because they’re worth it. And so are you!

Q & A session with the Bookworm Girl

Many thanks to the Bookworm Girl an awesome book blogger who hosted me and the novel, What If I Go? here-

http://bit.ly/2tDzFzq

The questions were interesting and were great to reflect upon in my writer journey. Hopefully, I have inspired others to put pen to paper. The novel is aimed at empowering women.

For all those who ask, ..’but what can I do?’ over difficult circumstances or tragic events then my answer might just be, ‘Why not write about it?’

Raising awareness is sometimes all we can do to help traumatic situations. Signposting vulnerable people and victims to support organisations that deal with sensitive issues such as grooming and sexual exploitation is satisfying. At the end of the book there are pages dedicated to victims giving the contact details of helpful organisations for support.

Self set or weeds?

20170704_102248

I said it with flowers. Sometimes formal isn’t best, though. These country flowers smell great and cheer up a table and the home it’s in. Many of the clipped foliage in the vase could be counted as weeds. There are even grasses, for goodness sake. That doesn’t mean to say they’re less valuable, in my opinion…

Nature does a grand job of raising a smile through the rich tapestry of flora it provides. Or is it God giving the free gift of a sweet aroma for all?

Either way, don’t forget to smell the roses.

An Amazing Book Review!

My heartfelt thanks go to Valicity Garris who posted a marvellous review of ‘What If I Go?’ 20 DAYS AGO!

Please see under ‘honest and emotional’ http://www.therebelchristian.com/book-reviews/

Sorry, I’m so late giving my heartfelt thanks. Put it down to a crazy, heat haze that’s just clearing. However, I do really appreciate the time of reviewers amongst their busy schedule.

All good things go to those who wait…

I am sooooo happy! Not bad for a debut? Please go ahead and check the novel out for your friends and family.

Also, please visit Valicity for more sound advice.
