For new writing to flourish, I’m currently reading credible fiction to emulate. That’s not classed as copying but I’m acknowledging strengths in other’s manuscripts. Completing reviews of these works will encourage those authors and help me become more aware of powerful writing techniques. Writers can help one another improve our craft through such collaboration. Do you wish to join me?
Have you any suggestions of good empowering books to improve my style?

TRUTH OR DARE?
Hello there. Thanks for popping by.
You may well be wondering why I wrote about such a difficult topic as sexual exploitation.
Well, it wasn’t easy.
Unfortunately, it’s in the news all the time here in the UK and it forever loomed large on may radar. I made fiction based upon research indicating that permutations of Grace’s story are drenching our society and that across Europe. Grooming has been a guilty secret hidden for tens of years.
My thriller/suspense aspires to tip off students to the dangers of falling prey to gangs.
I suppose my protagonist plays the ultimate game of truth or dare. As a safe person, it was terrifying going down to the underworld with my protagonist. How else could I have revealed the shocking exploits of perpetrators, otherwise?
Romans 5:3-4 tells us
..because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Is that what Rayne Hall meant when discussing Managing Tension with peeks and troughs, earlier in the Week? See Mystery Triller Author Hour.
Grace went ahead naively travelling to the UK thinking her life would be sorted. She finds out that she made herself vulnerable but got embroiled in the world, too late. Admittedly, bad things happened, but really, it is never too late to brush herself off and find contentment. My story is about having faith.
Here’s ‘What If I Go’s’ first review. Thanks go to Kiss Carson.
What If I Go by Polly J White is a coming of age story of a Bucharest teenager sent to the UK for a better education, a better chance at work, basically for a better life. From the moment Grace sets foot on Birmingham ground, her life takes a turn for the worse and, really, doesn’t get any better. Author Polly J White has weaved a very real story of innocence destroyed which draws the reader into Grace’s dystopian reality.
Wonderfully written from the point of view of a down trodden teenager, who – really – never gives up on a better life, even after her best friend turns her back on her, and her one and only love shatters her, body and soul. This story is not for the faint hearted, but for lovers of fiction that is so close to real life that you know this betrayal of innocence and trust really is happening, right now.
Polly J White has captured the angst of youth, along with the ruin of young virtue, and the total annihilation of faith perfectly. Be prepared for an emotional read, and to live a life of child exploitation through the eyes of an author who you would swear had lived through it.
What If I Go is a very real read which I enjoyed immensely.

‘Love, hope, fear, faith – these make humanity; These are its sign and note and character.’ Is a famous Robert Browning quote.
